Join us at Pawfections for a Premier 8-hour class on Pet CPR, First Aid and Care, PLUS... an added bonus teaching on Human CPR!


This Class will be taught by Ali Maguire, a Nationally Registered paramedic, AHA and Pet-Tech® Instructor.

PetSaver™ CPR, First Aid, and Care:
including CPR techniques, first aid skills, dental care, senior care and health & wellness information for dogs and cats. Additionally, the class includes our PetSaver 40-page handbook and upon successful completion, each participant will receive a certificate and wallet card.

AHA Friends and Family CPR:
The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants.

I found a less expensive and shorter Pet CPR and First Aid class elsewhere. Why choose yours?

Answer:

There are less expensive and shorter Pet CPR and First Aid courses - This class offers an 8-hour hybrid PetSaver™ course that also includes important topics including general pet-care, dental care, and senior care. As an added bonus, you will also learn lifesaving skills for humans using the American Heart Association's research-proven practice.This course differentiates itself as a hybrid course which allows for plenty of hands-on practice rather than being burdened by a web video or power-point coma. You will also receive a 40 page book and a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Instructor, Ali Maguire has been in EMS since 2007 and offers her field expertise and real world experience.

Who should attend a PetSaver™ Pet CPR, First Aid, and Care class?

Answer:

If you are a pet owner, sitter, groomer, own a pet supply store, are in the pet industry (vet tech, kennel staff, boarding staff) or just love four-legged feline and canine beasts you would benefit greatly from learning Pet CPR, First-Aid, and Care.PetSaver is taught with a "real world" approach that comes from 12+ years of experience in the pre-hospital setting and 40+ years as being a pet owner.

What skills are taught in the PetSaver™ class?

Answer:

PetSaver™ is a premier 8-hour course that includes the following topics:
Caring for Your Senior Pets, Learning Pet First Aid, Restraining and Muzzling, Primary Pet Assessment, CPR, Rescue Breathing, Choking Management, Bleeding and Shock Management, Fractures and Limb Injuries, Poisonings, Insect and Snake Bites, Heat and Cold Injuries, Seizure Control, Snout-to-Tail Assessment for Wellness and Injury, Vital Signs for Dogs and Cats, How to Build a First Aid Kit, Situations Requiring Immediate Veterinary Care, Medication Administration, Dental Care.

Question:

Since this is an all day class, will there be any breaks and should I pack a lunch/snacks?

Answer:

Yes, there will be break time! Pizza and snacks will be provided, you are also welcome to bring whatever you'd like incase you get the munchies!

Is there a certificate provided after completing the class?

Answer:

At the completion of your PetSaver™ or Pet CPR and First Aid course you will be provided a "Certificate of Completion" stating you are TRAINED in Pet CPR and First Aid. PetTech® recommends you renew your training at least every two years if not annually. PetTech® curriculum is designed in collaboration with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and meets and exceeds standards set by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). There will not be a certificate provided in this class for Human CPR training, but if this is something you are interested in, let us know and we will provide you with more information about the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED program.

What is the maximum size class you host?

Answer:

For PetSaver™ the most comfortable class size is no more than 12 people but may be as large as 20.

Can I bring my pet to class with me?

Answer:

We love our pets (or you wouldn't be here inquiring about how to help in their greatest times of need) but we do kindly ask that you leave your pet at home...
Due to student allergies, facility policies, general distractedness, and good intentions gone haywire we can't allow your beloved canine or feline friend to join us. 
Service pets are allowed. Please contact us ahead and the restriction will be waved.

Question:

Can I purchase pet or CPR items at class?

Answer:

We will have limited items for sale such as: Bleeding Kits, In Case of Canine Emergency Bandanas (allows you to fill out important info to have on your canine friend, personalized frameable certificates with gold embossed seal for professional display, and/or PetSaver™ iron-on badges.
If you know you would like any of these items, contact us ahead of the class to assure it is ordered and ready for you. Orders may also be taken at the time of class- allow for up to three weeks delivery.

Do I get any "Freebies" with class?

Answer:

PetSaver™ and Pet CPR and First Aid come with a 40 page program book, a Pet Muzzle, and a Certificate of Completion- all which are issued to you on the day of class.

If I missed my chance to sign up for this class, will there be other opportunities to join a class in the future?

Answer:

This class will be limited to a small intimate group for teaching purposes. Signing up ASAP by clicking on the link at the the top of the page will hold your spot. If the link is no longer available, this means registration is closed and the class is full. If you missed us this time around, we hope to host more classes in the near future!
